Norsonic provides a noise measurement solution in airports where noise pollution is at an alarming rate. Today, most major airports in the world are equipped with airport acoustics measurement and analysis technology to help measure and minimize noise pollution

An airport noise monitoring system of Norsonic includes the following steps: sound measurement and analysis system, in-flight noise monitoring, data collection, input data storage, calculation of relevant values ​​and reporting to the system.

Airport noise monitoring station

– The number of noise monitoring stations depends on the number and size of runways and certain geographical conditions. For each runway, there should be at least one noise monitoring station located at the extension of the runway.

– A noise monitoring and sound analysis station including: a set of noise meters (sound level meter and outdoor noise meter), a computer and communication module (can be a router or modem) , weather sensor (option), uninterruptible power supply (UPS), device protection sensor (from outside vandalism, from unwanted elements, power failure and temperature), cabin withstands inclement weather, tilting mast.

– Norsonic airport noise monitoring station with high durability, capable of operating in harsh outdoor environmental conditions: rain, sun, dew, wind… Operating temperature range -20°C to 55 °C, low power consumption. Optional sensors such as an ADSB receiver or a weather camera can be added.

– Noise monitoring stations are protected against electricity and lightning

– In addition, Norsonic also provides mobile noise monitoring stations that are easy to move and change operating positions to locations that need to be monitored with functions and measuring devices corresponding to fixed devices. These portable noise monitoring stations can be easily stored in a protective case or in a car trailer when not in use. With some types of specialized car trailers designed with solar panels, the device can operate for more than half a year without external power supply.

Noise and server tracking

The airport noise monitoring device will send incoming signals to a server for data processing and the user will review and analyze the data recorded on this server

– Data noise monitoring station (noise events, 0.5s or 1s Leqs (fast and slow), weather sensor data (option), other sensor data, alarms, other spontaneous messages )
– Data from Air Traffic Control Radar (Misc Protocol)
– Additional ADEXP or TFDPS Air Traffic Control
Data – AODB Airport Flight Schedule Data (Live Update)
– Weather Data METAR

⇒ All data will be continuously monitored. In the event of an interruption or failure to process the signal the alarm feature will be activated.

The noise monitoring server automatically finds correlations on the Radar data to identify events occurring with the noise source. Norsonic provides different correlations (Radar correlation, time window correlation, other manual correlation). As a result, Norsonic's environmental noise monitoring system achieves the highest correlation ratio.

Furthermore, Norsonic's airport noise measurement and analysis system provides very good control over acoustic events, because the audio events at the test sites are stored as MP3 files. Or you can also listen to the audio by connecting to live streams (Internet Radio).
